Hi, I'm Andy, a birth Doula serving Truckee and North Lake Tahoe.I'm here to help you navigate pregnancy, labor, and postpartum with confidence.
Why hire a Doula?
“If you don’t know your options, you don’t have any.”Birth trauma rates are high, not to mention underreported. Labor can unfold very quickly, very slowly, very different from what we expect in the unpredictable world of labor. Women should not emerge on the other side saying, "I didn't know I had a choice."While some interventions may be welcomed by you, or medically needed in your birth, hiring a doula has been shown to lower rates of unplanned or unnecessary intervention.Why? You'll have continuous labor support (doctors and nurses shift in and out, plus have multiple patients), a Doula provides you with physical comfort measures, advocates for your informed choices, and will coach your partner on how to get involved, plus step in for them when they are overwhelmed or tired.My goal as a doula is simple: to help you feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way so that the birth experience you ultimately have is an empowering milestone in your life.

What working together looks like:
Prenatal Preparation
Two in-home visits to discuss your goals, birth preferences, comfort measures, and what to expect.
I will also be available for email and phone support throughout your pregnancy.Labor Support
24/7 on-call support beginning two weeks before your due date and continuous support throughout labor and birth.Postpartum Follow-Up
A visit after birth to process your experience, answer questions, and connect you with resources

Your preferences around location, comfort measures or induction are all welcome here.> What is your Doula style?Non-judgmental, client focused, calm and supportive.> How does hiring a Doula change the experience for my partner?If your partner wants to be your biggest support, I can teach them hip squeezes and massage for you and put them to work. I can also step in to give them a chance to rest, in order to rejoin your labor as their best self. I can also support THEM supporting YOU. And if you want me to act as a buffer between you and your partner, I can do that, too.

About Me
I've always loved spending time with babies and children, but my interest in working in the birth realm truly began when I welcomed my son in July 2024.As I prepared for my own birth, I realized how many decisions there were to make if I truly wanted this birth to be mine. My Doula team gave me invaluable support as my husband and I surprised ourselves by planning a home birth.The days and months that followed my son's birth was like some sort of high. I truly love being with other women and families as they undergo this transformation themselves, as they welcome their own babies.I attended DONA International Doula Training in May 2026, while pregnant with my daughter. She was born at home in July 2026.Outside of birth world, you'll usually find me exploring the mountains around Truckee with my husband, our two little ones, and our dog—whether we're skiing, camping, or simply enjoying time together outdoors.
